This week on #fridaysews I’ve decided to show you the journey my chosen fabric takes from when I purchase it to when it arrives at my home and the journey it takes to reach my fabric stash.
I spend time organising my fabrics, paper patterns and threads. This video is just about my fabric and threads organisation. I will show you how I organise my patterns another time, but today it’s all about fabric and cottons.
This process is quick and allows me to find both my fabric and thread quickly. I hate when I know I have something and can’t find it. I find it extremely frustrating, so I get myself organised.

I use 4” x 6” index cards. I leave a small area for the fabric swatch, which I stick to the left of the card, and then I write out all the other information I want to store on my cards alongside the swatch:
