Loren Gray was the most followed individual on TikTok. She had 41.3 million followers before Charli D'Amelio surpassed her on March 25, 2020. Loren was the first account on TikTok to reach 40 million followers.
Before that, Lisa and Lena were the most followed individuals on TikTok, with over 32.7 million followers. They deleted their account in March 2019, citing privacy concerns and their loss of interest in the platform.
TikTok is available in over 150 countries worldwide and 75 different languages, has over 1 billion users and has been downloaded over 165 million times in the United States alone. TikTok brand’s target audience includes anyone between the age of 13 and 30.
The TikTok app has been downloaded over 2 billion times worldwide, as reported by Sensor Tower on April 29, 2020. In Q1 of 2020, the app had 315 million downloads, which is the best quarter by any app, ever. 500 million of those come from India, 180 million from China, and 130 million from the U.S. In March of 2020 TikTok was downloaded over 115 million times worldwide.
The monthly Active Users in the United States – In November 2018 TikTok reported that they had 20 million monthly active users in the United States. With the staggering growth that’s occurred since then, the estimations are that the current number of monthly active TikTok users in the U.S. is about 65 million.
The average minutes per TilkTok user 52 minutes per day on the platform, and the user opens the TikTok app 8 times per day. 83% of TikTok users have posted a video.
The Gen Z represents 60% of TikTok users are Gen Zers. Gen Zers are trendsetters. Next year, 74 million people in the U.S. will be part of “Gen Z”, which will make it the largest generation of all.
The New York Times reports that TikTok usage has been skyrocketing since Coronavirus began.
