(25 May 1972) In an uninspired game, Scotland beat Ireland 2 nil, at Hampden Park, Glasgow. The biggest upset was off the field, when an Irish player decided not to turn up for the match, but flew to Southern Spain and has announced that he is going to quit the game for good.
