Each year a group of ANU students visit Kosciuszko National Park to get hands-on experience of how all the different elements of the environment, including soils, geology, climate and ecology, interact. Investigating the impact of climate change on the Murray-Darling Basin, provides a solid case-study of what happens when environmental systems are under pressure from biophysical and social sources. By getting out of the classroom and into the real world, students gain the skills to see how climate change is impacting the Australian environment and how we can adapt.
