One person was dragged off the track at Epsom Racecourse after an animal rights group pledged to disrupt racing on Saturday, June 3.
Surrey Police said on Saturday that they had arrested 31 people “in connection with planned criminal disruption at the Epsom Derby Festival.”
The force said in a statement: “One man was arrested after he ran onto the racetrack after a race had started. He was quickly removed by event security and police officers, meaning the race was not disrupted.”
The Animal Rising campaign group had pledged to cause disruption at Epsom Racecourse, despite course owners being granted an injunction against them.
