Vizhinjam International Seaport in Thiruvananthapuram is India's first deep water transshipment terminal. It's also the first automated seaport in India.

Features

* Depth: The port has a natural depth of 18 meters (59 ft). This means that construction requires little to no dredging.
* Capacity: The first phase of the port will have a capacity of 1 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).
* Ship size: The port can accommodate ships up to 400 meters long and with a draught of 16 meters.
Infrastructure: The port has scalable infrastructure to match cargo growth.
* Connectivity: The port has a dedicated 2 km highway and a 10 km railway line.
