Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a look at the Sumo Springs rear axle solo custom helper springs. These are designed to fit your 2016 and newer GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado, then your 2016 and newer Toyota Tacoma, then your 2005 to 2015 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner and excluding Pre-Runner. Now as you know, towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that your rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load, but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering and braking. Now Sumo Springs upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance and keep your ride comfortable.
These 1,800-pound capacity helper springs provide progressive load control. The more you load them, the stiffer they become, and with the lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle, and the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration. The springs can also compress by as much as 80% to support a heavy rear load, and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This is going to even out the weight which levels your vehicle and ensure that your front tires are making better contact with the road.
A level ride means that you have improved driving control. It ensures safe headlight aim and it helps to minimize sway. The springs also supports your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduce bottoming out. Now these springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn, and this also helps compensate for off-center loads.
These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They're going to resist abrasion, oil, salt and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from negative 25 degrees Fahrenheit to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. These springs will compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts, and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, Sumo springs require no maintenance or adjustment. Now these helper springs are made here in the USA and are custom design as I mentioned earlier, to fit your vehicle.
They install easily with no drilling required. And as you can see, this includes everything that you see here on my table before me to for a complete installation. The weight capacity at 50% compression is 1,800 pounds, and these Sumo Springs will not increase your vehicle's weight carrying capacity. So you do want to be aware of that. They do have a limited lifetime warranty. Instructions are included to walk you through the installation process. And that's gonna conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
