In this one, I talk about the meaning of "existence precedes essence," in my ongoing attempt to make philosophy more accessible!
Aristotle and Plato are some of the earliest philosophers who wrote about essences, or the essence of a thing. I'll have to add Aristotle's Metaphysics to my list of topics to cover! It's kind of fun when you start talking about the "what-ness" of a thing. Philosophers just love making up words ;)
Anyways, this one focuses on what Sartre means by the phrase "existence precedes essence."
