Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at our Pewag Brenta C snow tire chains, right here on our 2019 Kia Sorento. If you're expecting a lot of extreme weather, or maybe you're going through an area that might have extreme weather, and requires that you have tire chains on you, well this is gonna be a great option, whether you have ice or deep snow. This is the Brenta C 4 x 4 snow tire chains, and it has a bunch of different features here to give you that extra traction. But also, it's pretty easy to install and I'll show you how to do that later in this video. So these have chains arranged in a diamond pattern.
And what that means is, compared to your ladder style that just go across your tires, these cover more of the tire. So when you have to start your car or stop your car, make those turns, this helps out with that because you have more traction. And, you also have those square links on there. So the links themselves, the square sides are gonna bite into that ice, but also with the way they're shaped, it'll help with that deeper snow. What makes this a step up is what the links are made of, and that is a titanium alloy.
So some tire chains, they're made of a carbon steel, which the focus is gonna be durability or hardness. There's our manganese nickel alloy, which is gonna be corrosion resistant. That titanium alloy is the best of both worlds. If you wanna use these chains for multiple seasons, that's what they're made for. Diamond pattern chains are also more popular, because they are easier to install.
And you can see with this, it has coated and color coded front chains. And that means if maybe you're not wearing your gloves as you're putting these chains on you're less likely to hurt yourself. Although please maybe put your gloves inside your case, so that you have some ready at all times. Now these tire chains arrive in this hard shell case. I like it when you have cases like these, because it's easier to carry around, but also a lot easier to store them in, 'cause you don't have to roll them up a lot.
But this also has some fun, little goodies for you, beside your two chains. You have these plastic instructions and then you have your little bag with little plastic gloves as well. Now I personally recommend just putting some extra gloves inside your case, or even picking up our tire chain safety install kit which has a rubber mat and light to keep this lit up as you are installing your chains. Now your Kia Sorento will have different tire sizes, depending on your trim. So our tire size is 235, 65, R17. If you're not sure, just double check it on your side wall. And that number's important, because then you can use it here at etrailer.com to get the right fit for you. Another thing on that is for this tire chain, or for this tire size, some of the chains are a little loose, a little tight. Like they fit, but not as well. This one is a great fit for your Sorento. So I've installed a bunch of different tire chains on the Sorento and my personal thoughts about the Pewag Brenta C, is that they're great, all around traction, although they take it another step in terms of heavy duty. So we have some smaller, more low profile tire chains, if that's more your style. The Titan chain cable tire chains are a good option for those. They do not provide as much heavy duty traction for ice and deep snow that these do. So I really like how these work and how easy they are to install. In fact, let's take a look at that. What I recommend doing is, once you get your tire chains, just go ahead and lay them out in your garage. Just look through them, double check that everything looks good. And, this will help you get familiar with the process of putting on your tire chains. That way you know what to do before you're stranded by the side of the road. So everything looks good here. And you have it facing the right way. Facing the right way means you want the flat portion of this hook facing your tire and the hook portion facing away from your tire. So then what I do is I grab half of those tire chains as a bunch and I just feed them around the tire, so that I can grab them on the other side right here. And then I just comb them through, so that it makes a nice arc and it's not tangled. And then it'll be easier to connect to the points. The first points to connect are these two points up top. So you're gonna go above your tire, and you're gon
