Due to hypertrophic gat cells, we have 2 phenomena…
1-body more and more inflamed
2-body filled with circulating free fatty acids
-cannot burn them due to high insulin
-cannot store any more in fat cells
THEREFORE fatty acids stored in places
NOT DESIGNED for them:
-fatty liver disease + more serious
In females, partly responsible is:
loss of estrogens
Question: can you adjust the fat cell to block insulin?
-NO, instead: work on the insulin level itself!
Don't blame fat cell for doing it's job
-correct the levels of insulin attacking fat cells
Glucagon is insulin's opposite hormone…
-Insulin wants to LOWER GLUCOSE
-Glucagon wants to INCREASE IT
-Insulin wants to store energy
-Glucagon wants to burn it
KETOGENESIS is process of burning lots of
fat, turning it into ketones
-insulin INHIBITS THIS PROCESS
-glucagon activates this process
This BALANCE between these 2 have
profound effect on nutrient metabolism
PROTEIN: I am strong advocate of dietary protein…
-most people do not get enough
-most people deliberately avoid best protein [animal-based]
IF you have very, very high glucose levels:
-protein will increase insulin
-will skew the insulin-glucagon ratio
IF protein consumed with animal fat…in
NATURE ALL PROTEIN COMES WITH FAT
If Protein Consumed in Absence of Glucose
then NO INSULIN SPIKE!!!
I resent people saying protein has significant insulin effect…
-Many, Many human studies:
In Absence of Glucose, No Insulin Spike
It does increase Glucagon!!
Net Effect: FAVORABLE--in helping body USE ENERGY
-not just store it

Increases metabolic rate
