Yes, upgrade! The slo-mo 119.9 FPS feature alone makes it worth it. I come from 70D and 80D. As a wildlife videographer, these older models did their job, but I was always frustrated that they didn't have 4K (That test coming soon. Please subscribe). Canon did us a huge favor by adding 4K but the slow-motion feature is an added bonus!
First thoughts on the camera:
No learning curve from 70D and 80D. Video recording quality is now number 1 under the menu options. Looking forward to the 23.978 GPS firmware update soon. More to come, with experience with it.
I wish it had/was:
WideDR or CLog picture profile settings.
Less noisy when switching from video to photo. Note: Also noisy when turning off and on and most noticeable when shooting photos. :( Why did that change?
A shinier finish on the body. The 90D has a mat finish that shows a lot of temporary scratches that wipe off.
The articulated screen rotation is too touchy when flipped upside down. It requires to be almost perfectly vertical to rotate the image on the screen. If tilted up just a little bit up it rotates back.
The flip screen attachment seems to be cheaper than the previous versions. Will it snap?
I no longer see the zoom icon in video live. Setting problem?
The AF square comes up when shooting in 120FPS, there is no AF in that recording mode.
This video was shot with Canon 70-200mm Mark iii
