Sandra Duran Wilson - Textures Transfers and Crackles Workshop - CLOSED

Hi, I am Sandra Duran Wilson, an abstract artist and workshop instructor. I have written 3 books for F&W Media, Image Transfer Workshop, Surface Treatment Workshop, Mixed Media Revolution and I am currently working on my fourth book. I have a DVD by Creative Catalyst titled, Tantalizing Textures and Transfers. I am making the videos to give you an idea of what will be covered in my upcoming workshops. This video shows examples of the techniques that will be covered in the upcoming workshop. I will demonstrate how to get applied textures using acrylic gels, pastes and paints, and how to get implied textures with resist techniques. The real fun begins when you learn the tricks on how to layer the textures with transfers and more textures. Crackle pastes can be opaque and thick and clear crackles can be tinted dark and be applied very thin. You can even get them to do runs and drips.

I will cover different substrates to work on, how to get transparent layers to increase depth and great collage tips and tricks. I will walk you through the ins and outs of transfers, stencils and even how to make your own stamps. A little math goes a long way with addition, subtraction and multiplication, you will learn some great composition tools.

I will introduce you to working with acrylic mediums, changing paint viscosity and transparency, creating a space for your transfers, understanding color blending and layers and even altering the final sheen on your work. I will introduce you to some new mediums to paint on and some innovative mounting and display options.
