Anemone blanda, a tuberous perennial, is native to southeastern Europe, Turkey, Lebanon and Syria, and flowers in purple, blue or white. It flowers through spring, but also in winter - hence one of its common names "Winter Wildflower." Anemone blanda is from the buttercup (Ranunculaceae) family.
