8 November 2024 (Nairobi, Kenya) – The Director of IGAD’s Centre for Pastoral Areas and Livestock Development (CPALD) opened the annual Drylands Transform project review and planning meeting, affirming IGAD’s commitment to positively transforming the livestock sector.
8 November 2024 (Jigjiga, Ethiopia) – IGAD’s CPALD conducted training for 20 Government Field Extension Officers on Standard Methods & Procedures for Animal Health (SMP-AH) and Risk-Based Animal Disease Surveillance. The training aims to improve certification standards, enhance disease control, and support the health and welfare of exported livestock.
10 November 2024 (Djibouti, Djibouti) – IGAD’s Deputy Executive Secretary met with the Task Team Leader and Co-Task Team Leader of the World Bank’s Health Emergency Preparedness, Response and Resilience Programme. Discussions centred on regional health challenges and collaborative strategies to engage all IGAD Member States in addressing these critical issues.
