❓Technological and societal impact
Current battery-operated devices, using magnetic storage components inside their power supply, see their performances decrease as switching frequency increases. To replace magnetic storage components by micrometric piezoelectric materials is one step closer to more sustainable devices, as battery lifetime could be increased as their volume and weight decreases.
Moreover, to integrate DC-DC piezoelectric resonant converters leads to more robust embedded power supplies integrated in harsh environment such as space.
