The 8th of February was marked in all the towns of Israel by important demonstrations, the aim of which was to approve the Governments attitude on the subject of the retreat of the Israeli soldiers from the Gaza strip and the Akaba Gulf. In Tel Aviv, 120,000 persons filed through the streets of the city, protesting against the United Nations resolutions on Israel's withdrawal from Egypt.During a meeting which followed the demonstration, an Israeli member of Parliament, Mr Yigal, demanded the resignation of the Secretary General, Mr Dag Hammerskjold.
