One year ago today, on July 10th, 2019, I left for Alberta to begin my journey on the Great Divide Trail. It was my first Thru Hike, and coming from Ontario, Canada, I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the Rocky Mountains. I tried my best to come up with the lightest but also most practical gear list for myself. And after completing the trail I know I could have saved a bunch of weight, mainly in batteries, clothes and rain gear. but overall I was very happy with my gear choices, and I never felt like I was ill prepared for any part of the trail.
