Bob talks about the pros and cons of living in Coronado versus living in Pedasi. He has lived in both. The two towns are very different.
Coronado is right on the beach so you can easily walk on the beach without getting in a car. Pedasi is about a 5-10 minute drive to the closest beach.
Coronado has a lot of restaurants, large grocery stores, hospitals, shopping, and an estimate of 1500 expats so there are more social activities. Coronado is only a 1 hour drive to Panama City and closer to an international airport.
There are high rise condos in Coronado but none in Pedasi or other towns in the Azuero.
Pedasi is a much smaller town (population about 2,000) so it has fewer amenities but it is more affordable than Coronado. Pedasi has that small town charm with less hustle and bustle of a big city. Pedasi has some beautiful beaches close by and it's only 45 minutes to Playa Venao for surfing. If you live in Pedasi, you may need to drive to Las Tablas or Chitre for shopping or to see a specialist doctor. From Pedasi, it's a 5 hour drive to the international airport in Panama City.
