CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- City leaders, police, firefighters and ODOT give the latest information into the investigation of the fatal bridge collapse onto southbound I-75 during a noon press conference on Tuesday, January 20. Brandon Carl, of Augusta, was standing on the overpass when it collapsed, killing him. The coroner will perform an autopsy Tuesday. A truck driver was also injured when his tractor-trailer slammed into the bridge.Carl was killed when the old Hopple Street overpass "pancaked" onto southbound I-75 during demolition late Monday night. OSHA and the Kokosing Construction Company are investigating. Once Kokosing has completed its investigation, it'll remove the pavement from the highway. Crews will then inspect the highway to make sure it wasn't damaged. Once it's determined it's safe, southbound I-75 will reopen.
