The pack was taken to the moon by the Apollo 11 shuttle in July 1969 and contains, as indicated by an administration station, "lunar material implanted in its fabric." Emblazoned with the words "Lunar Sample Return," the sack was utilized by space explorers to take moon rocks back to Earth.
