Dear NPEI Supporters,
You might notice whilst watching this recording that there is a very noticeable section after the presentation that is missing. I regret to inform you that during this Academic Freedom presentation we were Zoom bombed with obscenities and pornography, including what appeared to be child pornography. Trolls who resort to this ugliness are disgusting, evil individuals who try to drag the world down into the filth in which they reside, especially when they use images of exploited children and others.
I apologize for this happening. The NPEI is dedicated to inspiring democratic participation in social and ethical issues affecting the Northern Plains and beyond. What these people did was hateful and destructive to decent people and the community that we serve.
We removed the offenders as quickly as possible, locked everything down, and various police agencies were informed. Many of those who remained thanked us for what we did and commiserated with us.
We did not let these trolls stop the event nor prevent this recording from being made publicly available. That would have given them what they wanted.
Of course, we will do everything we can to assist the authorities and other responsible parties in hunting these trolls and pornographers down, and hopefully, they will be facing some type of negative consequence for exploiting children, who are by definition innocent and vulnerable.
