The idea considered in this video is this: if in Wing Chun we don’t resist or fight force with our structures, does that mean that they are inherently “weak”? Does it mean that all the Wing Chun hands are wholly dependent on redirecting force or yielding under any pressure?
My view is a definite "No!" While we don’t resist force in Wing Chun, the structures themselves can take a lot of force IF done with the correct mental focus. By focusing not on the point of contact, not on your own structures even, but instead focusing on your opponent's spine, you are able to simultaneously deal with more than if you relied entirely on your physical strength AND you reduce your opponent's ability to deliver force (ie, simultaneous defence and attack before you even start to move your structures).
