Dholkal Ganesh is located at a height of 3000 ft from sea level, and had remained hidden for centuries until it was rediscovered by an archaeologist in 2012.As per the locals’ belief, a battle occurred between Lord Ganesha and sage Parashurama on Dholkal hill a long time back. This was a fierce battle in which Parashurama attacked Ganesha with his farsa or axe. That’s how the village located at the base of the hill came to be called Farsapal.
