Ingredients (serves 2)
1/2 onion
300g firm tofu
30g panko breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon cornflour or potato starch
1 teaspoon garlic powder
a pinch of nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
a pinch of black pepper
2 teaspoons soy sauce
– for the Japanese-style demi-glace sauce –
3 tablespoon ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sauce (or if it's difficult to find brown sauce, use Worcestershire Sauce instead)
2 teaspoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sake
1 tablespoon sugar
