short info artist:
Jody Williams, is an American blues guitarist and singer. His singular guitar playing, marked by flamboyant string-bending, imaginative chord changes and a distinctive tone, was highly influential in the Chicago blues scene of the 1950s.In the mid 1950s, Williams was one of the most sought-after session guitarists in Chicago, yet he was little known outside the music industry since his name rarely appeared on discs. His acclaimed comeback in 2000 led to a resurgence of interest in Williams' early work, and his reappraisal as one of the great blues guitarists.
General info about venue
When I have visited one of Europe's greatest Blues festivals, I took happily my video-camera with me and filmed e few artists. I have been several times to the Blues Estafette in Utrecht. Every time it was great: Artists from the States you normally never could see performed here from the afternoon until deep in the night. The more known artists or bigger acts performed at the big stage, the smaller or unknown groups at the small stage. Especially the atmosphere and the sound at the small stage were fantastic! Unfortunately this festival, after more than 20 years, discontinued in 2004. Check out my other unique music movies from great artists, enjoy!
The next weeks I will add more live stuff from the Blues Estafette 2000 !
