I'M SHARING ALL MY INSIDER TRAIL MARATHON & 50K RACE TRAINING AND RACING TIPS WITH YOU IN THIS SERIES!!! These are the tips everyone needs to know when training and racing a trail marathon or 50k but are rarely shared. As a long-time trail and ultra runner I hope you'll find my personal tried-and-tested tips helpful for your trail marathon training, and race day.
Although in this video I refer to running a trail marathon race distance, this trail marathon training plan and race guide also applies to training for a 50k ultra race. I train and plan for both races exactly the same way, because in reality there is only 8km / 5 miles difference between the two races, which in the context of a trail race this long doesn't make any difference to the focus and effort I put into training, nutrition, recovery and race tactics.
