This little boy was the best. He never stopped smiling, joking or laughing. He had an amazing left foot that left me with sore hands after being in goal. You could never blink because he would be right past you with the ball at his feet. He really was an amazing lad and I can't believe he has gone. He was only coming home from football practice to watch England play Germany. He refused a lift home from his coach. It was only at the most, a five minute walk to get home and Rhys was never lazy. God we all wish he had taken that lift, it may have saved his life. He was shot in front of his team mates in the back of his neck. His coach went straight to his house and rushed Mel, his mum, to him. She held her son as he died. No person should have to go through that. The lad who fired that gun has torn apart his family. I can't speak for anyone else but not a day has gone by that I haven't thought of him. I walk past his house everyday. My bus goes past the place where he was shot. I know that I will never fully get over what has happened because I have lost someone who was as close to me as a brother. Rest In Peace Little Man xxx
