sorry this is coming so late...
i wanted to put off posting the first part for at least one more hour cause part 2 is still rendering and is probably gonna be up in 2 and a half hours but i guess it's better to post this know so you have something to watch while we all wait for part 2 to be done
this episode, or two episodes were the perfect season opener, they set up really interesting storylines for a lot of characters and i cant wait to see where we go from here
we talked a lot about the episode in the end so i don't think i need to write much here. i just again want to say how much i love that they're showing how cruel our guys are and how if we didn't love them we would hate them. we loved how they showed that entire part of them raiding york, how ivar killed that guy and how horrible that was.
i think my most favorite part of that was seeing ubbes reaction to all that was going on, like we said, it's gonna be interesting to see how this will affect him and what he's gonna become moving forward, i just love him, i love that he's like that and i live that we're gonna get to explore a character question how cruel vikings are cause we never really dove into that, we touched on it briefly with ragnar but i think it can be really interesting to see that moral conflict with ubbe.
literally an hour ago i saw that there was a deleted scene from the episode where they actually do sacrifice the boys and i was left speechless. not because i was surprised, you can see in the reaction we thought they would kill them, but because of ubbes reaction to that, he just walked away and i didn't think i could love him more
ivar. like we said we love ivars character, it's one of the most interesting and polarizing characters we watch in a long time. either you love him or you hate him there is no inbetween. and if you love him like we do i don't think most of us love him for being cruel, we love him for those quite moments when you realize he's just a kid who had to grow up feeling different and isolated and alone and all of that accumulated to him being this way and this angry all the time and that breaks my heart but also makes his character so interesing to watch
lagertha made a tactical mistake of not killing the king, i think it won't go too well for her when he comes back but we'll see. i think she has a lot to learn about being queen and ruling so i hope this season we see her become more of a leader.
and she did rape the king, i know he just asked her to marry her and all that but he was still in chains and she shouldn't have done that, so she still has a lot to learn and develop as a character
that's it, that's where i leave you and go study, ill post part two the second it's done
thanks for watching, hope you enjoy and we'll see you next week, we have to learn to deal with having only one episode of vikings a week, how you all did it is beyond me xx
