The tips are extremely helpful. For example, if you get requests verbally, ask people to send you emails instead so you can manage those and not have to retain information in your mind. By keeping information in your mind, you are cluttering it and making it easier for you to FORGET! Keep your inbox clean and decluttered. Delete the email after you have completed the task. Keep only items in the inbox that you still need to complete. Stay as focused as possible on finishing all tasks. Use a notebook for tasks and requests that come your way throughout the day. Be very mindful of your time. Every minute counts. If you are not aware or conscious of your time, it will slip by doing things that do not help you move ahead with task completions. Use Post-it notes but cautiously. Remember that Post-it notes can get lost and they are not to be saved on your desk for long periods of time. They are for very quick reminders. Focus on tasks – the more you accomplish and less distracted you stay, the better you’ll feel (more productive) at the end of the day. Use either digital or paper calendars and planners. Digital ones include Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook. Paper calendars with planners can be purchased from office supply stores.

Whether I use a paper calendar/planner or a digital one, as soon as I finish a task that I need to complete, I cross off or delete. I don’t forget things that need to get done because I put them on my actual planner/calendar.

You can also use the Reminder app on your phone if you are on the go and people ask you to complete tasks for them. Write your tasks on this Reminder app. When you finish a task, click on the circle and it will delete the entry. Another idea is to use a large whiteboard. If you use too many tools, you’ll have things written EVERYWERE and you’ll forget where you wrote what. Use 1 or 2 tools and strategies at all times. You have to learn to stay focused for short spurts of time and not get distracted. Here’s why: You can write all kinds of things down but if you need to actually accomplish them. The only way is to focus (short spurts) on getting things done and over with! Set your mind each day on being as productive as possible. Mindset matters! In some jobs, you are NEVER CAUGHT UP. But focus on getting the PRIORITY TASKS accomplished so you can rest easy after you leave your workspace. As you finish tasks, cross off, check off, delete, or throw out. You are trying to finish and move on, not save things to clutter your space or your mind.
