A private survey shows China's services activity weakened in October. The Caixin/Markit Purchasing Manager's Index, or PMI, for services, was 51.1, down from 51.3 in September. That's the lowest figure in eight months. Analysts say the decrease is mainly because new orders slowed and business confidence hit a 15-month low. But the composite Caixin PMI combining manufacturing and services activity rose slightly to 52 from 51.9 in September. That's the highest in six months. This has been attributed to a rising manufacturing PMI, which stood at 51.7 in October. The PMI is an indication of overall economic trends in manufacturing and services.
