Clear ownership over an account is critical to successful renewals. In this video, Irit Eizips looks at the ownership between account managers and customer success managers.
Between Sales and Customer Success, who should own the account?
If you’ve bought into the customer-centric philosophy, you probably know the answer to that question. But that’s not a universally agreed-upon approach.
There are some companies where sales managers are still the primary owners of the accounts. This significantly limits a CSM’s ability to control and drive success. It can diminish their role in onboarding and prevent them from building a relationship.
