In this video, I will explain how to sketch curves using the derivative using sample exam questions under the Mathematics (2U) course. Examples include:
• Application of the first derivative to examine the gradient of a function
• Application of the second derivative to find inflexion points
• Sketching the curve using the derivative information and other relevant information
As this is the first year implementation of the new Maths syllabus in NSW for 2020 HSC students, I have created this “Study with Me” series to help students prepare for the upcoming HSC Assessments. I will cover selected topics students tend to struggle with across the Advanced Mathematics (2U) course and the Extension 1 Mathematics course (3U).
This is relevant for Year 12 students preparing for HSC Mathematics and HSC Maths Extension 1 for 2020 and onwards.
