The Großglockner Hochalpenstraße is Austria’s longest scenic route, named after the country’s highest peak, the Grossglockner (3,798m). The region is home to the marmot, ibex, and golden eagle, as well as diverse plant life, alpine pastures, and dramatic rock formations. If you get the chance to experience it yourself, I’m sure you’ll find it just as worthwhile as I did.
