This patient had a very large ganglion cyst in his foot and ankle. Initially it was visualized on MRI and show to be coming from the ankle, a ganglion cyst is fluid from the joint. This was important so we don't have this cyst coming from a nerve or artery. Aspiration and removal surgery of this ganglion cyst was performed. These can be common on the top of the foot, the big toe, the ankle joints and from tendons!

A ganglion cyst in the foot and ankle is similar to one in the wrist or finger, just with different anatomy. The key is to prepare the set, anesthetisize it, and remove it pain free! This is not a home treatment, so don't try this at home!
