Today were going to be taking a look at the Custer red LED emergency light with heavy duty magnets. Its part number is HF18R-HD. This is also available in amber as part number HF18A-HD. This four inch by six inch emergency light offers to modes. We have a strobe mode and a solid mode. As you can see it's 16 LEDs that light it. It runs off of four AA batteries which are sold separately and it offers a run time of up to 32 hours. With the rear cover removed as you can see all the way around the outside of the battery housing here there's a nice gasket that's going to help keep the water and stuff from getting inside there and causing any kind of corrosion. As we said before, it uses a standard set of four AA batteries.
We're going to place them in according to the emblems that are on there. When we place our cover back on one side is going to have a rounded indention in it, the other side solid. That rounded indention should be facing towards our button. Let's give it a quick check just to make sure it's working. Yeah, as you can see we've got power, so we're okay to replace our cover. We'll press down firmly until it clicks.
Place our small slotted head screw back in and then simply tighten it down a few turns that it requires for it to be secured. Our safety light can be easily attached to any metal magnetic surface. Whether it's going to be transported in a tractor with heavy equipment, maybe a trailer. In our case today we're going to show you what it'd look like if you we're stuck on the road, stranded, your flashers are out whatever the case may be, maybe your battery is dead. We throw this on the back of the car, clip it in, hit the button and it's going to notify any other motorist about our situation to let them know that something's going on here. Now, another nice feature that we've discovered is that by removing the two magnets from the rear there's a little plastic tab that you can pull out. Slide down until you hear it click into place and it's actually going to offer a nice kickstand for the light. Maybe if you dont have anything that the magnets will connect to you can actually set that down on the ground behind your vehicle, maybe on the bumper, tailgate or something like that and still have the option of using your light. We've set our light up just over a tenth of a mile away from our cameras just to give you an idea of how right it is. The light can actually be seen about a mile and a quarter away.
That will complete today's review of our Custer red LED safety light with heavy duty magnets part number HF18R-HD. .
