Hey Guys, After taking out the Panamera and then the GT3, we now test the McLaren 675LT to see how they compare. Obviously the LT is completely run in so to compare the performance of the two now is not fair on the GT3. However that said I had completely forgotten just how exciting the LT is to drive really fast. Simply in a different performance league to the GT3 as it was to the Ferrari 458 Speciale.
The McLaren 675LT produces 675hp and 700 newton-metres of torque, (see below). On the road this equates to a car that can accelerate to 100kph in under 3 seconds, 2.8secs to 60mph, and probably more significantly 0-200kph in 7.9 seconds. In real life conditions the 675 feels unbelievably fast, and as I said earlier in quite a different league to the GT3.
However I shall say although James thought that the LT sounded more the race car and the GT3 more a fast road car this is most likely because we are only using 5000rpm in the Porsche. When we can use the full 9000rpm imo it will be the the Porsche that will sound the racier of the two. Time will be the judge!
Since I had to look this up I thought I would copy this down for you. 'The newton metre (also newton-metre, symbol N m or N. · m) is a unit of torque (also called "moment") in the SI system. One newton metre is equal to the torque resulting from a force of one newton applied perpendicularly to a moment arm which is one metre long'.
Our car has the ClubSport Professional Pack and is therefore even further tied down and the independent hydraulic suspension makes all this bearable over uneven surfaces and absolutely phenomenal on the smooth stuff.
Thanks for watching and please make sure you subscribe now to see further videos of the McLaren when they are released and there will be quite a few coming!
