Round 9 of the 2005 British Superbike Season at Silverstone saw the championship return from a 6 week break and points leader Michael Rutter was under pressure. While he used the long hiatus to recover from injuries his rivals were out testing and his team mate Ryuichi Kiyonari had won the prestigious Suzuka 8hr race who would have the edge as BSB 2005 restarts.
