At the age of 92, about five weeks before his death, Pandit Ravi Shankar appeared before the audience in Long Beach, California for his last stage performance. He was accompanied by his daughter, Anoushka, and Tanmoy Bose (on the tabla). With oxygen tubes inserted in his nose and a team of doctors standing by in the wings he completed the number. Thereafter, realising that it was his last performance he broke down. A touching farewell to a legend.
