This is my instrumental arrangement of the song "Ad Mortem Festinamus" from the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat (14th century manuscript of religious pilgrim music). The title translates to "We race towards death." The song is about the inevitability of death and that we should turn away from sin while we still have the chance. Some lyrics particularly resonate today with our modern "plague." I think we should use this time to reflect on our priorities. Here is a translation of the end of the song:
You will be worthless as a cadaver;
Why dost thou not guard against sin?
Why dost thou seek to elevate thyself?
And why dost thou seek money?
Why dost thou wear pompous clothes?
And why dost thou seek greatness?
Why dost thou not confess your repentance?
Why dost thou not befriend your neighbor?"
