Actually, many laboratories use the following PSA chart to compare the value of Total PSA with age:
0-2.5: Normal for a man 40-50 yrs. 2.5-3.5: Normal for a man 50-60 yrs. 3.5-4.5: Normal for a man 60-70 yrs. 4.5-5.5: Normal for a man 70-80 yrs.
But, we recommend to not depend solely on the total PSA, and strictly use free PSA ratio to calculate the prostate cancer risk and the urge for surgical biopsy.
