Happened to me numerous times: I'm out of fittings and the shop is closed, but the water is shut off and I must finish the work. So I have some fittings that I removed but never bothered to reclaim; most people just throw them away in this case. But in a global fight for sustainability, I like to contribute sometimes and reuse stuff as much as I can. Plus the shop was closed. :) And they don't stock these at the big stores like Home Depot or Lowe's, only specialty plumbing supplies stores.
Anyway, this is how I salvage/reclaim plastic Wirsbo/Uponor/ProPex expansion fittings.
Note: Sorry for the video quality and narrative errors, this is my first public YouTube video. Plus I think sharing the information is more important than doing it in 4k 60fps with perfect lighting; substance over form.
