Boston Station is located on the railway between Nottingham and Skegness known as the Poacher Line.

The line leaves Nottingham before heading towards Grantham where it runs alongside the East Coast Mainline before trains reverse and head out east of Grantham and into open fenland, as the latter part of the line between Grantham and Skegness is very rural there are only a few stations that see a regular train services with all the others seeing about 2 trains a day in each direction.

East Midlands Railway operate the route and all services on it using Class 153/156 Sprinter Units which are due to be replaced with Class 170 units at some point during 2021.
