The Dr. Quack is a modified version of Electro-Harmonix Dr. Q envelope filter pedal circuit. The modification made by Jack Orman consisted of adding a high impedance buffer and changing the bias of the envelope follower. I built the circuit on a breadboard in order to make some tests and experiment with component values. The circuit is very economical and fun to play.
