Bamboo island (in Thai: เกาะไม้ไผ่) is located at the Koh Phi Phi islands group, in the Krabi province in Thailand. Bamboo island is one of the most beautiful tropical islands of Thailand. The beach around Bamboo island is named Bamboo Beach.
Bamboo island is a beautiful tropical island without many people and without many tourists. Bamboo island is famous for its white sand beach and turquoise colored seawater. Popular activities at Bamboo island are: sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, and (overnight) camping. Near the camping area on the west side of the island, there is a small bar that sells food and drinks. Bamboo beach is the only beach at and around the small Bamboo Island. Bamboo island and Bamboo Beach are about 700 meters in length and about 600 meters in width.
Bamboo island is located about 13 kilometers from Koh Phi Phi Don, the main island of the Koh Phi Phi islands.
Bambo island is a popular sightseeing stop during full day travel tours around the Phi Phi islands. Bamboo Island can only be reached by longtail boats and speedboats from the main island Koh Phi Phi Don or with speedboats from Phuket or Krabi.
