Points and Crossing Tamping Machine Model CDC-16W & XCD-16W is a selfpropelled machine manufactured by M/s CRCC High Tech Equipment Corporation Ltd., China, as per their drawing No. CDC16W (IND)-00. This machine is used for lifting, lining, levelling and tamping of turnout and main line track.
The maximum axle load, rigid wheel base and wheel diameter of machine are 21.6t, 1800mm and 920mm respectively. Centre Buffer Coupler (CBC) is provided as per Indian Railway Standard- RDSO Specification No.56-BD-07 and Air Brake system is as per M/s CRCC High Tech Equipment Corpn. Ltd. China’s Drg No. CDC16W (IND)-50-01-00. The design speed of machine is 80kmph when running on its own power and 100kmph when running in train formation as a dead vehicle. The design details are given in Annexure-A.
