A Colac business manager Anthony McDonald says residents of Colac are “not getting the support they expect" from the Department of Health and Human Services” and are having to wait extensively for test results..
The south-west Victorian town has 50 active COVID-9 cases, with numbers likely higher as many await overdue test results.
"One of the biggest issues has been the time-taken for them to process and get back to people with test results,” Mr McDonald told Sky News.
“I had contact with a business person this afternoon that finally got his result today after being tested on Monday, so that’s 10 days to get a result back.
“Two family members were tested last week and received their results after four and six days respectively.
“We had Daniel Andrews say the average is two days, so we just feel here in Colac that were being treated as perhaps second rate, we’re not getting the same prioritisation that metropolitan areas are receiving.”
