Dime Novels are a staple in early American literature. They helped forge the idea of the great American hero. Characters such as Buffalo Bill, Wild Bill Hickock, among others, had dime novel written about them which solidified them into the American folkloric landscape.

Plus, Dime Novels are the precursor to the modern day Comic Book. Many of the tropes and story telling tendencies stem from the Western Dime Novels.

Let us celebrate the American Western and let us celebrate the Dime Novel.
