There is basically no real work involved in making these - they come together in minutes and taste unbelievably delicious!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups (~300 grams) sesame seeds
- about 1/4 cups salted (if using unsalted, add a pinch of salt when melted to balance out the flavours)
- about 2 tablespoons of honey
Directions:
- preheat oven to 350 F
- melt honey and butter in a saucepan and bring to a rolling boil
- add in sesame seeds, turn off the heat and mix until thoroughly combined
- dump out onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spread out into a thin, even layer
- bake for 4-8 minutes (may be more or less depending on your oven, convection, etc), keeping a close eye so that it doesn't burn
- remove when it's golden brown and allow to cool completely before slicing (it comes out soft and hardens as it cools)
Please note: I have not attempted to make these with coconut oil instead of butter or with maple syrup instead of honey. I anticipate that the results would be similar, but if you decide to give any substitutions a shot, be kind and share your results! :)
