In this video, teach you how to apply for your business EINs. I discuss the importance of understanding EINs how they affect your business and why you need one for each business:
Anytime you setup a new business you should get an EIN for that business. Never use your social security number to represent your company.
The IRS expects you to have one to track your business activities ,employees, taxes, etc.
You also need one to do business with the government & get setup in SAM.
Your EIN must match your exact name when you register for SAM otherwise it will reject.
EIN is an Employer Identification Number. A number given to you by the IRS for your business. Your business is it’s own entity. The EIN represents the . business. Your EIN is specific to your business – like your social security is specific to you.
How Do You Get an EIN? You apply online with the IRS – see the link in the comments.
The IRS will ask for your social only to verify who you are and that you are the owner of the business. Then they will also ask for your company name.
This is where the errors happen with the name. Make sure the company name you put on the EIN application matches the legal name on your company LLC, Corporation, Sole-proprietorship paperwork exactly, This will avoid any problems when you signup for SAM registration and your taxes.
