Eike Musall, faculty advisor of team MIMO from the Hochschule Düsseldorf, University of Applied Sciences, Germany, knows the venue of the competition very well. He studied and obtained his doctorate at the University of Wuppertal. In our interview, he explains why the multidisciplinary approach of the SDE21 is beneficial for students and tells us how the team will realize their motto 'Minimal Impact - Maximum Output' architecturally.

In June 2022 the Solar Decathlon will take place in Germany. It is the international university competition for urban building and living, which has been inspiring millions of viewers worldwide with attractive buildings and a top-class event since 2002.
To celebrate its twentieth anniversary, the Solar Decathlon Europe 21/22 in Wuppertal is dedicated to the transformation of urban space. If in the future, we want to have sustainable, climate-friendly and social cities that are worth living in, we need to lay the groundwork today! The SDE 21/22 is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
